WHO WE ARE
A small but perfectly formed charity aiming to provide mental health support for children and families affected by childhood cancer. 1,600 children are diagnosed with cancer each year. That means 1,600 families affected by the emotional turmoil treatment can bring. We plan to support them at the beginning, in the middle and after treatment has finished.
WHAT WE DO
The mental health services we are raising funds to finance include: a professional at ‘split’ treatment centers, so that support is more accessible; well trained volunteers that support families; training for family members on trauma and its effects on children; training for outside agencies on how to support children and their families; and lastly provision of therapy and counselling for the whole family, during and after treatment.
